David is an Independent Advisor working in the Sunrise Wealth Partners, LLC office. He moved to the Washington D.C. area to pursue a career in investment brokerage shortly after graduating from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Commerce from the McIntire School of Business, with dual concentrations in Finance and Management.
He has chosen to spend almost 25 years exclusively with independent firms on the investment management side of retail securities brokerage, handling hundreds of retail households’ assets in that time. His experience is in extensive capital-raising, financial sales, equity and asset allocation analysis, portfolio management, strategy, retirement and education planning and client service. He came to Sunrise Wealth Partners specifically to take advantage of the extensive platform that Pershing, an affiliate of the Bank of New York Mellon and Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. offer. The access to the comprehensive suite of independent research and products available, as well as the reporting and planning infrastructure, he believes will provide clients with a wealth of top tier options and services for years to come. David is extremely excited about the team that Sunrise has built in the Reston office to support clients and his business.
He is a firm believer that investment success for clients will be driven by intensive and tailored client-specific financial planning, diversification, objective tool-kit advice and asset allocation.
David has also cultivated an unblemished and exemplary compliance and regulatory track record over his entire career. He holds Series 7, 24, 53, 63 and 65 licenses, and is licensed as a General Securities Principal and Municipal Securities Principal, as well as for Life, Health and Variable Annuities.
David and his wife, high school sweethearts, have raised 2 teenage sons in Northern Virginia and are proud to be longtime residents and contributors to the local community. His involvement includes coaching lacrosse at Dominion High School for the past nine years, and as an alumnus he maintains annual fundraising and cooperative relationships with the UVa men’s lacrosse program.
